If your course or program is less than six months, you do not need a study permit.

Requirements:

You must have the minimum requirements:

 - have been accepted an education institution on the government list of approved schools;

 - satisfy the officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your studies;

 - prove that you have enough money during your stay in Canada for your tuition, living expenses, accompanying family members (if any), and return transportation;

 - have no record of criminal activity;

 - complete a medical exam (if required)

Student Direct Stream is a new process for students from China, India, Philippines or Vietnam can apply for to expedite their study permit processing. To be eligible to apply, you must obtain an IELTS score of at least 6, or a 7 in French or have graduated from a Canadian-curriculum high school.
