Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

All Canadian provinces and territories (except Nunavut and Quebec) offer Provincial Nomination Program (PNP), some of which are issued under the federal Express Entry system.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

There are several options through these streams in which you can bring your entire family with you. Some of the many Provincial Nomination Programs are as follows:

 

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

 

There are three (3) categories under the OINP Program as follows:

 

1. Employer job offer –This is for individuals with a full-time and permanent job offer from an Ontario employer. There are three (3) streams in this category;

 

  • Foreign Worker Stream – This is for a foreign worker with a job offer in a skilled occupation;

 

  • International Student Stream – This is for international students in and outside of Canada with a job offer in a skilled occupation; and

 

  • In-Demand Skills Stream – This is for a foreign worker in an in-demand occupation in agriculture or construction with a job offer in Ontario.

 

​2. Human Capital – There are two (2) streams in this category;

  • International graduates – This is for international graduate students that have graduated from an eligible Ontario university within two (2) years of graduating from the following;

    1. Masters Graduate Stream; and

    2. PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) Graduate Stream.

 

  • Ontario’s Express Entry – There are three (3) streams in this category. You must have a valid profile in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) Express Entry system and receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario before you can apply online to the following streams;

    1. French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream;

    2. Human Capital Priorities Stream;

    3. Skilled Trades Stream.

3. Business – There are two (2) categories in this stream;

  • Corporate stream – This is for an international corporation looking to expand or buy an existing business in Ontario: and

  • Entrepreneur stream – This is for an entrepreneur from outside of Canada looking to start a new business or buy an existing one in Ontario.

 

 

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

 

There are three (3) categories under the SINP Program as follows:

1. International Skilled Worker Category – There are three (3) streams in this category as follows;

  • Employment Offer – This is for skilled workers with a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer;

  • Occupations In-Demand – This is for highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan and do not have a job offer; and

  • Saskatchewan Express Entry – This is for individuals in the Express Entry system with skilled work experience in an occupation in-demand.

 

2. Saskatchewan Experience Category – This is for foreign workers currently living in Saskatchewan in the following categories;

  • Existing Work Permit;

  • Health Professionals;

  • Hospitality Sector Project;

  • Long Haul Truck Driver Project; and

  • Students;

3. Entrepreneur and Farm Category – This is for individuals who wish to own and actively operate a business or farming operation in Saskatchewan. There are two (2) streams in this category;

  • Entrepreneur Sub-Category- This is for individuals who wish to invest management talent and capital in Saskatchewan by establishing, acquiring, or partnering in a business in Saskatchewan. They must take on an active management role; and

  • Farm Owners and Operators Sub-Category – This is for experience farmers with capital looking to invest in a farming operation in Saskatchewan.

 

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

 

There are three (3) categories under the AINP stream as follows:

 

  • Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) – This is for foreign nationals working in Alberta and international graduates who have completed their studies at an approved Alberta post-secondary institution;

  • Alberta Express Entry Stream – This stream allows the Alberta government to nominate candidates from the Express Entry system; and

  • Self-Employed Farmer Stream – This is for individuals who wish to buy land in Alberta to develop into farming land and practices.

 

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)

 

There are three (3) immigration categories under this program as follows:

 

1. Skilled Immigration (SI) (including Express Entry British Columbia) – There are six (6) streams within this category;

  • Skilled Worker Category – This is for individuals who have received a job offer in a skilled occupation;

  • Healthcare Professional Category – This is for physicians, specialists, nurses and health professional to work in BC and apply for permanent residence;

  • International Graduate Category – This is for international students who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college within the last three (3) years;

  • International Post-Graduate Category – This is for international students who have graduate degrees in the sciences from an eligible BC institution;

  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category – This is for individuals who have experience in tourism/hospitality, long-haul trucking or food processing occupations; and

  • Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC)– The following Skills Immigration category may be processed through Express Entry British Columbia which is an expedited way to gain permanent residence in BC:

  1. Skilled Worker Category –This is for individuals with a valid job offer from a BC employer and relevant training and experience;

  2. Health Care Professional Category – This is for individuals with a valid job offer from a BC employer in the healthcare profession;

  3. International Graduate Category – This is for international graduates who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college within the last three (3) years and have accepted a full-time job offer within the NOC list of occupations; and

  4. International Post-Graduate Category – This is for international students who have a graduate degree in the sciences from an eligible BC institution in technology, health care and applied sciences who have graduated in the last three (3) years.

 

2. Entrepreneur Immigration – This is for individuals who will settle and invest in a business in British Columbia.

Entrepreneur Immigration Category – This is for individuals who wish to invest and manage a business in BC.

 

3. BC PNP Tech Pilot – This is a pilot program for individuals with experience in the technology to assist and expedite the fast past in demand tech sector in BC. There are 29 eligible tech occupations and you must have a minimum one-year full-time job offer.

 

 

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

 

There are four (4) categories in this program as follows:

 

1. Skilled Worker Immigration Stream (In Manitoba and overseas) – There are two (2) streams in this category;

  • The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream has two (2) pathways;

1. Manitoba Work Experience Pathway – This is for skilled workers who apply to be nominated through the province of Manitoba; and

2. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway – This is for skilled workers who receive an Invitation to Apply from an eligible Manitoba employer and is nominated through the MPNP; and

 

  • The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has two (2) pathways;

  1. Manitoba Express Entry Pathway – This is for candidates who are also eligible under an MPNP stream and who meet the Express Entry requirements. They must be in an occupation in-demand and have strong family connections in Manitoba; and

  2. Human Capital Pathway – This is for foreign skilled workers with experience in Manitoba’s In-demand Occupations.

2. Manitoba Business Investor Stream – There are two (2) streams in this category;

  • Manitoba Farm Investor Pathway (FIP)- This is for individuals with farm business experience who wish to invest, establish and operate a farm in Manitoba; and

  • Manitoba Entrepreneur Pathway – This is for individuals who wish to establish, purchase a business or become partners in an existing business within the first 24 months in Canada on a temporary work permit.

3. Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative – This rural town is seeking new immigrants in specific occupations through the MPNP program; and

4. International Education Stream (IES) – This is for Manitoba graduates who wish to apply for permanent residence. There are three (3) streams as follows:

  • Career Employment Pathway – This is for international graduates who find long-term employment in Manitoba in a related in-demand occupation with their education;

  • Graduate Internship Pathway – This is for international students with a master’s degree or doctoral degree from a Manitoba post-secondary institution; and

  • International Student Entrepreneur Pilot – This is a pilot program that will allow up to 20 international students (per year) who have graduated in Manitoba the opportunity to be an entrepreneur than employment.

 

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

 

There are five (5) categories under this program as follows:

 

  1. Express Entry Labour Market Stream – This is for skilled workers who are eligible under the express entry immigration system;

  2. Skilled Workers with Employer Support – This is for individuals who have received a full-time permanent job offer from a New Brunswick employer;

  3. Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream – This is for international students who have graduated from an eligible institution and have started a business in New Brunswick;

  4. Entrepreneurial Stream – This is for individuals who wish to invest, own and manage a business in New Brunswick; and

  5. Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program – There are four (4) Atlantic Provinces that are currently in this pilot program that recruit foreign workers for job high in-demand. Individuals must have a job offer from the province.

 

 

Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)

 

There are six (6) categories in under this program as follows:

 

  1. Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker  - This is for individuals who are nominated with job offers through the federal Express Entry system;

  2. Skilled Worker Category – This is for individuals who have received a guaranteed job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer;

  3. International Graduate Category – This is for recent international graduates with a Post-Graduate Work Permit. Graduates must have a current job or job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer as well as working in their field of study;

  4. International Entrepreneur Category – This is for individuals who wish to invest, manager or purchase a business in Newfoundland and Labrador. This route will open soon;

  5. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category – This is for international graduates who wish to invest, own or run a business in Newfoundland and Labrador; and

  6. Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program  - There are four (4) Atlantic Provinces that are currently in this pilot program that recruit foreign workers for job high in-demand. Individuals must have a job offer from the province.

 

Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

 

There are seven (7) categories under this program;

 

  1. Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities – This is for individuals who apply through the Express Entry system;

  2. Physician – This is for internationally-trained general practitioners, family physicians and specialist physicians with an employment offer from Nova Scotia;

  3. Entrepreneur – This is for individuals who wish to start or purchase a business in Nova Scotia;

  4. International Graduate Entrepreneur – This is for international graduates who have completed at least two (2) years of full-time study from an eligible Nova Scotia university or college who have operated their own business;

  5. Skilled Worker – This is for skilled workers who have a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer;

  6. Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry – This is for individuals who apply under the Express Entry system. There are 11 eligible occupations under this stream;

  7. Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry – This is for individuals who apply under the Express Entry system who have worked for a Nova Scotia employer for at least one year.

 

 

Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

 

There are three (3) categories under this program;

 

1. PEI PNP Express Entry – This is for individuals who apply through the Express Entry system;

2. Labour Impact Category – There are three (3) streams in this category;

  • Skilled Worker Stream – This is for individuals who currently work for an employer in PEI or have a job offer;

  • Critical Worker Stream – This is for workers who have been hired by an employer in PEI; and

  • International Graduate Stream – This is for international graduates from an eligible university or college who have been hired by an Employer in PEI.

3. Business Impact Category: Work Permit Stream – This is for individuals who wish to invest in a PEI business.

 

Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)

 

There are two (2) categories under this program;

 

  1. Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program – There are three (3) streams under this program:

    1. Express Entry System for Skilled Workers – This is for individuals who apply through the Express Stream for Skilled Workers;

    2. Skilled Worker – This is for individuals who have a job offer from a Northwest Territories employer; and

    3. Critical Impact Worker – This is for individuals who have a job offer from an employer in the Northwest Territories that have also already worked in the position for a minimum of six (6) months.

  2. Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program – Business Stream – This if for individuals who wish to invest or purchase an existing business in the Northwest Territories.

 

Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

 

There are four (4) categories in this program:

 

  1. Yukon Express Entry (YEE) – This is category is for individuals in the Express Entry system along with areas in Yukon that require skilled workers;

  2. Skilled Worker – This is for individuals that are skilled workers who are sponsored by employers;

  3. Critical Impact Worker – This is for individuals who have experience in a semi-skilled or unskilled occupation that are high in-demand and sponsored by an employer in Yukon; and

  4. Business Nominee – This is for individuals with business experience who wish to start and operate a new business, partner or purchase an existing business in Yukon.
