Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)

Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) via Express Entry (EE) is a program for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigration to Canada.

Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)

You can apply to live in any province with the exception of Quebec. The province of Quebec has its own skilled worker application.

The following minimum requirements for this program are as follows:

- skilled work experience;

- language ability; and 

- education.

The successful candidates are chosen based on several factors of a 100-point grid system used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The points are based on the following criteria:

1. Age;

2. Education;

3. Work Experience;

4. If you have a job offer;

5. English and/or French language abilities ; and

6. Adaptability (how well you can settle your life here).

Once you are in the Express Entry pool, a different ranking system is then used for your profile and the highest-ranking candidates from the pool you are in are invited to apply for permanent residence.
