Family Sponsorship

If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident that is looking to sponsor a loved one such as a spouse or common-law/conjugal partner, dependent children, parents or grandparents, the following programs are available;

Spousal Sponsorship Program – A Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply to sponsor a spouse or common law partner for permanent residence in Canada.

i) Outland Sponsorship applications are applied when your spouse/common-law partner is currently not residing in Canada; and

ii) Inland Sponsorship applications are applied when your spouse/common law partner is residing in Canada and has a temporary status as a visitor, student or worker. The spouse can apply for an Open Work Permit, allowing him/her to work in Canada while the application is processed.

Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) - A Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply to sponsor their parent(s) or grandparent(s) for permanent residence in Canada.

Parent and Grandparent Super Visa Program – A Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply for their parent(s) or grandparent(s) to come to Canada on a long-term multi-entry 10 year visitor visa. The Super Visa allows them to stay in Canada for up to two years from entry to Canada. (Some applicants applying may also require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) along with the Super Visa.)

Dependent Child Sponsorship Program – A Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply for their dependent natural and/or adopted child to Canada for permanent residence.
